A dish using Potatoes and Yoghurt prepared in South Indian style. Alugadde Patchadi is also called as Alu Raitha in North India and is prepared with a slight variation. This dish is also known as alugadde bhajji in Karnataka.

Ingredients:
2 Alugadde/Alu/Potatoes
2 Cups Curds/Yoghurt
1 Green Chily, Chopped
1tbsp Coriander leaves
5 Curry leaves
1tsp Oil
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
½ tsp Uddinabele/Urad Dal/Black Gram Split
2tbsp Finely Chopped Onion (Optional)
Salt to taste
Method:
Boil Potatoes, peel and mash lightly and remove to a mixing bowl. Let it cool. Add Curds, Salt, Coriander leaves and mix well.
Heat Oil, add Mustard Seeds, Kadalebele/Bengal Gram and Uddinabele/Urad Dal/Black Gram Split. When the Mustard Seeds start spluttering and the Grams start turning golden brown add Green Chilies and Curry leaves. Add this to the Potatoes and Yoghurt mixture and mix well. Remove to a serving dish and add Onions and Coriander leaves and mix well.
Serve Alugadde Patchadi with Phulka or Rice.
