Masala Bhath is usually prepared on festivals and occasions using a unique masala powder and vegetables.

Ingredients:
2 Cups Rice
1 Cup Cauliflower Florets or Tondekayi/Tindli/Ivy Gourd, Chopped finely
1 medium sized Potato, Peeled and Chopped finely
1tbsp Masal Pudi/Godha Masala
1tsp Red Chili Powder
2tbsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1tsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
A pinch of Asafoetida/Hing
Few Curry Leaves
½ Cup fresh grated Coconut (Optional)
2tbsp Coriander leaves, Chopped finely
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat Oil and add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter add Jeera, Curry leaves, Asafoetida and the vegetables and stir-fry for a minute. Add Rice, Salt, Coconut, Masala Pudi and 4 Cups of water. Cover and cook until done. Remove to a serving dish and garnish with Coriander leaves and serve with Raitha.
