This yummy and filling snack is popular in Rajasthan especially in Jodhpur. In Jodhpur, most of the snack shops have these Michi vada / bada stacked in their show counters.
Time Required: 30 Minutes
Ingredients:
8 Shimla Mirchi
Oil for deep frying
For the filling:
2 Alu / Potatoes. Boiled, peeled and mashed
1tsp Chili Powder
1tsp Coriander Powder
1tsp Jeera / Cumin Powder
1tsp Aamchur / Dry Mango Powder
1 Green Chili, Chopped finely
½ Cup boiled peas (Optional)
1tsp Chaat Masala
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
For the Batter:
1 Cup Gram Flour
¼ Cup Rice Flour
A pinch of cooking soda
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash and dry the chilies and slit the upper layer of the Chili. Mix the ingredients for the filling and keep aside. Fill the stuffing mixture into the Chilies.
Mix the ingredients for the Batter with water to get a smooth, thick batter.
Dip the stuffed Chilies into the batter and deep fry until brown.
Serve hot with your choice of Chutney.
