Whole Garam Masala is a combination of whole spices used to flavor many dishes like Vegetable Pulao, Biryani, Side Dishes, Mughlai dishes, and so on.
Ingredients:
Jeera / Cumin Seeds
Fennel Seeds / Saunf
Kali Mirch / Peppercorns
Elaichi / Small Green Cardamoms crushed
Moti Elaichi / Big Cardamoms
Laung / Lavang / Cloves
Dalchini / Cinnamon
Bay Leaves
The quantity of each of the ingredients varies according to taste and the quantity of dish prepared. These ingredients are first dropped into hot Ghee or Oil to enhance the flavor of the spices to mingle with Vegetables or Rice.
For example, if you are preparing Pulao for 4 and using two cups of Rice then use the following proportions:
1tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
1tsp Fennel Seeds / Saunf
4 Kali Mirch / Peppercorns
2 Elaichi / Small Green Cardamoms crushed
1 Moti Elaichi / Big Cardamoms
4 Laung / Lavang / Cloves
2 one inch Dalchini / Cinnamon
2 big Bay Leaves
