Muddenahalli is situated in Chikkaballapur district and is popular because Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (Sir MV) was born on 15th September 1860 to parents Mokshagundam Srinivasa Shastry and Venkatalakshmamma. Sir MV was an engineer, scholar, and a great statesman. He was a Bharat Ratna awardee and was knighted by King Edward V for his selfless service to the society.
The house he was born in Muddennahalli has now been converted into a museum. His samadhi is maintained inside a small park.
