Finger Millet balls served with a spicy curry. This replaces Rice for the main course in Karnataka.
Cuisine: South Karnataka
Time Required: 5 Minutes
Ingredients:
2 Cups Ragi Flour/Finger Millet Flour
3 Cups Water
1tsp Oil
Salt to taste
Method:
Boil 3 Cups of water along with Salt and Oil in a thick bottomed vessel. When it comes to a boil add the Flour and close the vessel. After a minute, use a wooden spatula and mix the mixture quickly in concentric circles.
The mixture will become thick.
Now sprinkle some water over it and close the lid and cook for a minute on low flame.
Remove to a tray and add Ghee and divide the mixture into balls.
Serve hot Ragi Mudde with Avarekayi Huli or Sambar or Mosappu or Bassaru or Uppesaru.
