Masala Uddina Vada are fritters prepared using Split Black Gram and Onions. A very popular dish usually served for breakfast in South India.

Time Required: 20 minutes + soaking time
Ingredients:
1 Cup Urad Dal (Split Black Gram)
2 Green Chilis, Chopped
1 Onion, Chopped
2tbsp Fresh Coconut pieces
2 sprigs Coriander Leaves, Chopped
2 sprigs Curry Leaves, Chopped
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste
Method:
Soak Urad Dal for 30 minutes. Grind it to a thick paste. Add Salt and the other ingredients and mix well. Heat Oil in a frying pan. Take a spoonful of batter in the hand and shape it into a ball and deep fry until golden brown.
Serve hot Masala Uddina Vada with Chutney and Sambar.
