Arathi Thatte (plate) decoration has been evolving over the years, as women innovate to decorate plates, which is a gesture of love and affection towards the god. Here is an Arathi Thatte – Plate Decoration with Split Green Gram.
Materials required:
1 Steel Plate
1 tbsp Honey
1/4 Cup Split Green Gram / Hesarubele / Moong Dal
Few Kundan Pieces in different colors
1 or 2 Tooth picks
Method:
Clean the plate and draw the design using the tooth pick dipped in Honey. In the pictures below, the dot Rangoli is depicted.
Arrange the split gram over the Honey dots.
Honey acts like glue. Now join the dots according to the design.
Continue to arrange the split gram one next to the other to complete the Rangoli or design.
Decorate with Kundan using Honey as glue.
Light the lamps and keep them over the plate and enjoy the Aarathi.
