Carrot is a strong material that can be used to carve out different shapes. A very easy to make is the flower.
Materials required to make Carrot Flower:
1 Carrot
Knife and peeler
Cold Water
Mustard Seeds
Method:
Wash and peel the Carrot. Cut one inch piece from the tapering end of the Carrot. From the remaining part of the Carrot, cut extremely thin roundels and put them in ice cold water as shown in the figure below.
Now, take the one inch piece and make slits all around the piece so that the roundels can be slid into them.
On the smaller round surface of the piece cut horizontal lines and vertical lines to get square mat design grooves as shown in the figure below.
Remove the carrot roundels from the cold water and slide the big size roundels into the slits starting from the bottom circle. Continue to slide in all the roundels.
Complete the flower. Sprinkle some mustard seeds in the square mat grooves as shown in the picture below.
Keep this carrot flower in the fridge for freshness and use it to decorate salad plates or stick a big stick to the flower and use it as a flower stem to form a vegetable flower bouquet. The stick can be covered by sliding a spring onion scallion over it.
