The excitement of festival starts with the aroma of fresh Mango leaves bought home from market to string them into a thorana / festoons to adorn the front door welcoming all the goodness and happiness that the festival brings along with it. Here is a very simple procedure to assemble a thorana.
Materials Required:
Fresh Mango Leaves preferably of the same size
Stapler
String
Method:
Measure the width of the door and cut the string accordingly. The length of the string should be few inches more than the width of the door so that the extra string can be wound to the nail on either side of the door.
Keep the string on a flat surface and keep a Mango leaf over the string and fold an inch of the leaf from the stem side over the string and staple it. Continue for all the required leaves.
Tie the thorana / festoon on the door and stick two branches of Mango leaves on the nail.
Happy festival time!
