This is a beautiful song written by Sri Purandara Dasaru to sing during the head oiling ritual, which is the beginning of auspicious occasions like festivals, weddings, upanayana (sacred thread ceremony), and so on. Tomorrow evening is the beginning of Diwali when all the people in the house sit together and elders perform the “Oiling ritual” and while doing Arathi, this song is sung.
