A Cactus garden is the answer to people who are hard pressed for time. Cactus growing is a pleasurable hobby and adds the much needed color to your bare garden with less effort.
There are many varieties of Cactus available in the nurseries. You can choose a combination of prickly or succulent cactus. The succulent varieties look best in a hanging pot and the prickly ones, which usually grows in height can take the back bencher position in the garden.
Most of the Cactuses bloom, which makes the garden look exotic. Easter cactus, Aloe vera, Pear cactus are some of the cactuses that bloom. Aloe vera is an edible cactus with a lot of medicinal value.
Crushed rocks, stones, and marbles arranged in the Cactus garden makes it more attractive.
The potting material used should be well-drained soil. Water Cacti pots only when the potting mixture is extremely dry. They require very less watering and flooding can harm the plant encouraging leaf rot.
Feed the Cacti plants with a fertilizer once a year. Use a good spray to keep bugs, slugs, and spider mites at bay.
