Crested Floating Heart plant is native to Asia. They are invasive and are found in slow-moving, still, shallow bodies of water like ponds, lakes, reservoirs, swamps, river, and canals.
It is a perennial plant. The stems of the plant are 10 – 30 cm and root from the nodes. The floating leaves are green and heart shaped and hence the name of the flower.
Flowers are white, small with five star shaped ruffled petals. They bloom on a single stalk above the water surface. Water Snowflake aquatic plant is related to Crested Floating Heart plant.
