The villagers of South Karnataka before leaving their house, always have a towel hanging on the shoulder. This towel has multiple uses. The towel is used to wipe the sweat, tied as a headgear when it is hot, used like an umbrella while running for shelter during rain, wipe washed hands after a meal, and so on. Humorously it is known as HMT, which stands for Hegalu Mele Towel (Towel on the shoulder).
