It is rainy season in India. The monsoon kept its time this time and arrived in the first week of June to Kerala and from there it spread to Karnataka, Maharashtra, and upwards. Now, the monsoon has reached Delhi region and parts of Eastern India. Farmers welcome the rain and have started sowing in the lands in the hope that there will be a good yield this year.
The shop at Banusara Dam, Wyanad, Kerala was selling these colorful umbrellas. I have observed that most of the coastal people use the umbrella tactically to stop the splash from puddles when vehicles pass over them. Eventually they get drenched by rain as the umbrella goes quickly 90 degrees to the right of left to avoid the splash from vehicles. But their argument is the rain water is better than the muddy water and I agree with them. The versatile Umbrella!
