Birding in the vicinity of Valley School

Valley school is situated 20 Kms on Kanakpura road.  The road leading to the Valley school and the surrounding area is a forest offering a place to seek the much needed solace from the maddening traffic of Bangalore.

Picture1 – Amaltas

Many flowering trees dot the area like Palash / Flame of the Forest, Amaltas, Jacaranda, Gulmohar, and so on.
Picture2 – Indian Robin
These trees offer perfect perch for birds of all hues to tweet and sing songs and be merry.
Picture3 – Laughing Dove
Many medicinal plants flourish here.
Picture4 – Forest Wagtail
There are 250 species of birds, many small mammals, reptiles, insects, and bees in this forest.
Picture5 – Changeable Lizard
You will be lucky if you spot deer, elephants, or leopard.
Picture6 – Blue Eyed Malkoha
Though spotting a predator or the pachyderm would have been thrilling, we were extremely happy with the birds that we sighted.
