The first botanical garden in Mysuru is an added fragrance to the charm of Mysuru. Flowers and trees of different species are known to thrive well in Mysuru weather.
The Botanical Garden is adjacent to Lingambudhi Lake and is well designed with thoughtfully segregated species of plants. It is spread over 15 acres and each section is labelled for ease of navigation.
There are 300 species of plants planted in the garden.
The various sections are the fragrant garden, topiary garden, rose garden, native species, minor fruits, palm, medicinal, and aromatic plants.
There is also a gazebo and a children’s park.
Many huge and old trees are nurtured here. Birds and butterflies are attracted to the flowers.
The Lily pond with Pink and Yellow Lilies are a joy with a pathway around it.
A small botanical garden, but worth visiting along with a stroll at the Lingambudhi lake.
Currently, a flower show is going on at the garden, which is incredible to say the least. The show has a display of flowers and foliage in different hues in flower pots and beds.
It looks like each of the flower has been reared for the show. A very neat job indeed, which I am sure will be enjoyed and remembered by all the visitors.
As you enter the garden, two beautiful green Elephants greet you.
A series of pergolas are installed in the shape of heart filled with flowers like Orchids, Daisies, Roses making the visitors feel special as they walk under it.
Our heart fills in pride to see the India map structure with flowers.
The Ashoka pillar and the prism structure in flowers are few other show stoppers.
