Literally unknown place, it is gaining popularity among the birders as many species of both resident and migratory birds have made Gendehosahalli their home. Cauvery River flows here giving ample food for the birds. The vegetation around the river is suitable for the breeding birds.
A check dam is built on the Cauvery River creating a water falls. Many birds are seen flying around this place.
It is a pleasant drive to this place from Mysuru with rolling paddy fields on both sides of the road.
The sunset is worth waiting. This is the time when you can spot many Peacocks on the banks of the river.
Gendehosahalli island is proposed to be developed like Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary with boating and an information center.
Currently, the place is dirty and littered. Hope that officials protect this bio-diverse place to benefit nature lovers.
