As we cruised from Port Blair to Havelock Island, I looked forward to fulfill my dream to snorkel, sea walk, and scuba dive. Not limited to only these activities, Havelock Island has a lot to offer to visitors.
Havelock Island is the largest and the most stunning of the hundreds of islands, which is part of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Total area of the island is 113.93 square kilometer.
Havelock is the name of a British General who was posted in this part of the country by the East India Company.
Beautiful stretches of white sand beach and Shallow Ocean in various hues of blue bordered with Mangroves is inviting and invigorating. The beaches are given numbers and names.
Following are the five villages in Havelock Island: Govinda Nagar, Bejoy Nagar, Shyam Nagar, Krishna Nagar, and Radha Nagar.

Thick rain forest covers major part of the island.
The various other activities that visitors can indulge are: Beach combing, sunbathing, surf riding, floating using tubes, swimming, game fishing, sunset or sunrise watching, bird watching, cycling, trekking, fishing, sailing, kayak, mangrove safari, and so on.
Do not venture into the mangroves while swimming as there are many saltwater Crocodiles, which may attack you.
