The octagonal shaped minarets are two stories surmounted by domes. A flight of 200 steps inside the minarets, takes the visitors to the top for a fine view of Srirangapatna.

A mehrab (it is a semicircular niche (architecture) in the wall of a mosque) on the Western wall of the main hall of the masjid symbolizes the direction to pray. The stone tablets, fixed in the hall are inscribed with Koranic verses.
