You will be delighted to find a bonsai garden of international standard in the city of palaces: Mysore. Kishkinda Moolika Bonsai garden is in Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashrama and houses many beautiful bonsai plants. It is spread over 4 acres.
The name Kishkinda is the name of the kingdom of monkeys from the epic Ramayana. This is near Hampi, Karnataka and was ruled by King Sugriva along with friend Hanuman. The kingdom was inside thick forests.
Kishkinda Moolika Bonsai garden with compositions in all types of bonsai is a treat to the eye and time well spent with family and friends.
There are some bonsai plants, which are as old as 800 years old.
Kishkinda Moolika Bonsai Garden was established in 1986 by Sri Sachichidananda Swamiji in his ashram. There are around 450 bonsai with 100 varieties of trees and each one is placed in groups with Indian themes like Indian zodiac system, tunes of Indian classical music, stars, plants associated with mother goddess, and plants associated with the 7 sages.
Each of the bonsai is artistically placed to get a 360-degree view. Some of the fruit bearing trees have borne fruits.
Surrounding the garden are vegetable plants and flowering plants. There are hundreds of Coconut trees inside the Ashrama. Deer and bird parks inside the Ashram are added attractions inside the ashram.
