An architect’s delight, the Lalgarh palace in Bikaner was built between 1902 and 1926. Built in Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles, the building was custom-built by Maharaja Ganga Singh in memory of his father Maharaja Lal Singh.
Architect Sir Swinton Jacob built this palace using red sandstone, which contains beautiful halls, grand rooms, picturesque pavilions, carved pillars, and elegant balconies.
The latticework and filigree work in Lalgarh Palace is much appreciated by the visitors.
The Shri Sadul Museum is situated in the Lalgarh palace. Maximum number of books lines the library here, which is not surprisingly the fourth largest library in the world.
Bikaner Royal family still enjoys this palace as their private residence.
