All of us have enjoyed Malgudi days episodes on TV and the author behind this enthralling book is Sri R.K.Narayan.
His house declared as a heritage site is now preserved as a museum filled with the memorabilia of the writer.
Sri R.K.Narayan lived in this house for four decades from 1950 to 1990.
The museum was established in 2016 and managed by Mysore City Corporation.
The two-storeyed house displays the writer’s furniture, clothes, awards, photographs, panels with his quotes, medals,
Personal belongings like spectacles, cuff links, watches are arranged in a box.
Collection of his books are displayed.
The house has an old-world charm with red oxide floors and antique furniture.
An Octagonal shaped room on the first-floor is elegant and a typical Mysuru mane (Mysore home).
On display is the commemorative stamp released on his 103rd birth anniversary by the Indian Postal Service bearing the sketches and painting of his brother Sri R.K. Laxman.
It is an enriching visit to the home where Malgudi days was created.
