Mysore is fortunate to have an artist with a unique art like Sand sculpting. Artist M.N.Gowri is the one behind the Sand Museum in Mysore. This is has become a must stop for tourists visiting Mysore. Rightly so, as the Museum houses the huge sand sculptures done in an aesthetic manner. Every piece is proportionate and depicts the scene exactly. The expressions are perfect.
Located on the main road that leads to Chamundi hills, the artist has used 115 truckloads of construction sand and has created 150 sculptures. There are totally 16 themes spread over 13,500 square feet. There is an entry fee charged and it is worth every penny.
