Wandoor Beach is situated 29 Km from Port Blair. It is one of the most serene and scenic place in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
This area was hit by the Tsunami and has left its mark on the beach. Uprooted giant trees on the beach is a bleak reminder of the natural disaster.
There are many rocky islands visible from the beach. Mangroves and tropical forests line the beach.
You can spot many birds here like White-Bellied Sea Eagle, Parrots, Andaman Teal, heron, Terns, Swifts. A variety of marine life keep you mesmerized like Mollusks, Salt Water Crocodile, Turtles, Starfish.
The Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is within the limits of Wandoor beach. Boats take you to the park from Wandoor Jetty. The park was started in 1983 to protect the marine life including corals and nesting sea turtles.
You can also visit Red Skin and Jolly Bouy islands from this beach. Best season to visit is from November to May.
