Yediyur Siddhalingeshwara Swamy Temple is a very famous pilgrimage center situated in Kunigal Town, Karnataka.
It is actually a Samadhi (tomb) of the great Veerashaiva sect saint Sri Siddhalingeshwara Swamy. He preached the Sharana faith visualized by the founder of the sect Basavanna and also Allmaprabhu in the 15th century.
He performed a penance for 12 years in a thota (garden) and hence is also known as Thotada Siddlingeshwara Swamy. He traveled far and wide and performed miracles to heal the sick and suffering.
Annual festivals are held in large scale during Maha Shivaratri and Ugadi. During Deepavali, Lakshadeepotsava is performed (100 thousand lights are lit). On the 7th day of the new lunar year, the car festival is held. Sri Siddhalingeshwara Swamy has written Shathsthala Jnana Saramrutha, containing 701 Vachanas (Poems).
