Avalakki Dosa are pancakes prepared using Beaten Rice and Rice. This dosa is also known as Bread Dosa because of the sponginess texture of the dosa.

Time Required: 30 Minutes + Soaking Time + Fermenting Time
Ingredients:
2 Cups Raw Rice
1 tsp Methi (Fenugreek) Seeds
2 tsp Urad Dal (Black Gram split)
½ Cup Avalakki/Poha (Beaten Rice)
1 Cup Coriander leaves, Chopped
½ Cup Curry leaves, Chopped
3 – 4 Big Shimla Chilies, Chopped finely
Salt to taste
Mehtod:
Wash and soak the Rice, Methi and Urad Dal for 4 hours. Soak Avalakki in water for 5 minutes before grinding. Grind all the ingredients together to a smooth batter.
Cover and keep overnight in a cool place to ferment. Add Salt to the batter and mix well.
Heat a kadai/shallow fry pan and add 1tsp Oil.
Add one ladleful of the batter.
Sprinkle the Coriander, Curry leaves and Chilies over it.
A teaspoon of oil can again be added on the sides, cover and cook over medium heat.
When the edges of the Dosa turn light brown flip the Dosa and cool for another minute.
Remove Avalakki Dosa to a serving plate.
Serve hot Avalakki Dosa with Coconut Chutney.
