As India discovered the goodness of Oats and started consuming it the way the English did, some liked it and some did not, and the some who do not like it the English way can now easily have the Oats in the form of any familiar cuisine of their own region. Oats Idli is healthy, easy to make, and adds a twist to the Idli tale!

Time Required: 30 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Oats
1 Cup Uppittu Rawa / Semolina
Few Curry Leaves
Few Cashew nuts
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Kadalebele / Bengal Gram Split / Channa Dal
1 tsp Uddinabele / Black Gram Split / Urad Dal
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
3 Cups Curds / Yoghurt
Few sprigs Coriander leaves, Chopped finely
Salt to taste
Method:
Roast Oats for a minute and remove to a mixing bowl. Roast Rawa for two minutes and add to the Oats.
Heat Oil and add Kadalebele, Uddinablele and when they turn pink, add Mustard Seeds and Curry leaves. Add this seasoning to the Oats-Rawa bowl and mix well. Add Salt, Coriander leaves and mix well.
Add water in the cooker for steaming and turn the heat on. Add Curds to the Oats-Rawa mixture and mix well. Grease Idli molds and pour the mixture into the molds. Keep in the cooker and steam for 5 to 8 minutes.
Remove from the molds and serve hot Oats Idli with your choice of Chutney and Sambar.
