Halasinabeejada Chutney is a chutney prepared using the seeds of Jackfruit. The seeds give body to the chutney and gives a unique taste.
Time Required: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
5 – 6 Halasinabeeja / Jackfruit seeds, pressure cooked
4 Green Chilies
1 Cup Coconut
1tbsp Tamarind extract
Salt to taste
Seasoning:
1tsp oil
1tsp urad dal
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
1 or 2 Red Chilies
Few Curry leaves
Method:
Peel the Jackfruit seeds. Grind them along with Green Chilies, Coconut, Tamarind and Salt to a paste. Heat Oil and add Urad Dal and when they turn pink, add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter add Red Chilies and Curry leaves. Add this seasoning to the chutney and mix well. Serve Halasinabeejada Chutney with Dosa, Idli, Chapathi or plain Rice.
