Saarina Pudi – Method 2 – Rasam Powder Recipe – Mysore Rasam Powder

Saaru Powder

Saarina Pudi is also known as Rasam Powder, this masala powder is used to prepare lentil accompaniment with Rice called Saaru/Rasam.

Ingredients:
1Cup Guntur Red Chilies
1Cup Coriander Seeds
2 sprigs Curry Leaves
2tsp Fenugreek Seeds
3tsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
3tsp Peppercorns
1/4 tsp Hing/Asafoetida
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2tsp Turmeric Powder

Method:
Roast the Curry leaves and keep it aside.  Fry Fenugreek, Cumin and Pepper in Ghee. Fry the other ingredients using little Oil separately.

Grind everything together to a powder and store in airtight containers.
