Star Gooseberry is available around the year. Making Star Gooseberry Pickle is easy and also adds a little zest to the mundane lunches and dinners.

Ingredients:
1 Bowl chopped Kiru Nellikayi / Star Gooseberry
2 tbsp Salt
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
1 tsp Mustard Powder
1 tsp Fenugreek Powder
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
For the seasoning:
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
A pinch of hing
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Method:
Add all the ingredients together and store in a dry airtight container.
For the seasoning, heat Oil and add Mustard Seeds, and when they splutter, add Hing, Turmeric Powder. Let it cool.
Add this to the pickle the next day.
