A mild curry prepared using Karnataka winter flat beans also known as Lilva Beans!

Ingredients:
2 Cups Avarekayi
1tbsp fresh Coconut, Grated (Optional)
Juice of 1 Lemon
2 Green Chilies, slit
Few pieces of Ginger
Few Curry Leaves
1tbsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1tsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1tbsp Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Method:
Soak Avarekayi/Flat Beans in water for 20 minutes. Squeeze out the bean from its skin. Boil this in water until tender. To this add slit Chilies, Salt, Ginger, Curry Leaves, Lemon and Coconut and cook for 3 minutes.
Remove to a serving dish. Heat Oil, add Mustard Seeds and Jeera and when they splutter, add Turmeric powder. Add this to the dal/tovve and mix well.
Serve hot Avarekayi Tovve with your choice of Indian Bread or Rice.
