Curry prepared using Red lentils.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Whole Masoor Dal/Red Lentils
1 Onion, Sliced
2 Large Tomatoes, Chopped
2 tbsp Oil, Ghee/Clarified Butter
1tbsp Coriander, Chopped finely
Salt to taste
For the Masala paste:
4 Cloves Garlic
4 Green Chilies
2 tsp Coriander Seeds
1tsp Cumin Seeds
1″ Piece Ginger
Method:
Grind the ingredients for the masala to a paste. Cook Masoor Dal in 2 Cups of water. Heat Oil/Ghee in a pan, add Onions and saute until they turn translucent. Add the masala paste and fry until the moisture evaporates. Add the cooked Masoor dal and Salt. After 2 minutes add Tomatoes, mix well and cook for another 2 minutes. Garnish with Coriander and serve hot Masala Masoor Dal with Phulkas or Parathas.
