Batavi Payasa is a very unique payasa from North Karnataka. Batavi are small balls prepared using Semolina (rawa) and these are cooked in Milk. Why not surprise your folks with this payasa on one of the festival days!

Ingredients:
For Batavi:
6 tbsp Big grained Rawa / Semolina / Bansi Rawa
2 tbsp Ghee / Clarified Ghee
3 tbsp Wheat Flour
3 tbsp Milk
For Payasa:
4 Cups Milk
½ Cup Sugar
¼ tsp Cardamom Powder
½ Cup Batavi
1tbsp Nuts
Method:
To make Batavi:
Take a kadai (shallow pan) and add the Rawa, add little Ghee and little Wheat flour.
Using your hands rub it together moving from left to right.
Keep doing this adding little milk or water.
The result should be small balls of Rawa, which is known as Batavi.
Remove to a dish and keep it aside.
To make Payasa:
Heat Milk and add the Batavi and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Keep stirring.
Add sugar and Cardamom powder and mix well. Add ghee roasted Nuts and mix well.
Remove to a serving dish and serve.
