Hesarubele Payasa

Pudding prepared using split Green Gram.  This is a favorite among Kannadigas during festivals.

Recipe: South India

Time Required:  20 Minutes

Ingredients:
2 Cups Hesarubele / Split Green Gram
2 Cups Jaggery, grated
10 – 12 Raisins, Fried in Ghee
5 -6 Cashew nuts, Chopped and fried in Ghee
1 1/2  Cup Coconut Milk 
1tsp Cardamom Powder

Method:
Roast Hesarubele.

Cook with 2 cups of water in cooker.  

Remove to a thick-bottomed pan.  Add more water if the mixture is too thick.

Add Jaggery and mix well.

Bring to a boil.  Add Coconut Milk.

Mix well and bring to a boil.

Add Cashew nuts and Raisins and mix well.  

Remove to a serving dish.

Serve hot Hesarubele Payasa.
