The best Kesar Pedha in Mysore was available at Indra Sweets. My dad used to get it home for all occasions. Making this Pedha (sweet) is very easy. This can be a wonderful treat to Lord Krishna as he is preparing to visit your homes on Krishna Janmashtami (11th Aug 2020), you can also prepare to welcome him by making Kesar Pedha.
Ingredients:
100 gms Khoya / Mawa / Dehydrated Milk
1/4 Cup Sugar
10 strands of Saffron soaked in 2 tsp of Warm milk
Method:
Crumble the Khoya. Add Khoya to a thick-bottomed pan. Add Sugar and the Saffron Milk.
Cook on medium flame.
Cook until everything binds together and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Remove to a container and store in refrigerator for 2 hours. Remove from the refrigerator and grease your hands and divide into equal sized balls and shape into a pedha.
Garnish each one with chopped Almonds or Pistachios and a strand of Saffron.
Store Kesar Pedha in refrigerator.
