“Pal” means Milk and “Puri” is crisp deep fried Indian Bread. This dish is a combination of crispy puris with sweetened condensed milk.
Time Required: 30 Minutes
Ingredients:
For the Puri:
2 Cups Chiroti Rawa / Fine Semolina
1tbsp Ghee / Clarified Butter
Oil for deep frying
A pinch of Salt
For the condensed milk:
8 Cups Milk
2 Cups Sugar
10 – 12 strands of Saffron soaked in Milk
2tsp Cardamom Powder
Nuts like Pistachios, Almonds fried in Ghee
Method:
For the Puris:
Mix Rawa, Ghee, Salt and little water to form a dough. Keep it aside for 2 hours.
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll the balls as thin as possible and make few cuts on them.
Deep fry them till crisp and golden brown.
For the Condensed Milk:
Boil Milk and Sugar until it is reduced to half. Add Nuts, Saffron Milk and Cardamom Powder and mix well. Remove and keep aside.
Assembling:
Dip the crisp Puris in the condensed milk and place it on a tray.
Repeat for the other puris and place them one above the other.
Pour the remaining Milk over the puri pile.
To Serve:
Fold a single Puri and serve along with little Milk.
