Sajjige holige is a sweet semolina stuffed bread. This is not prepared on auspicious days. It is usually prepared during Pitra Paksha or on Mahalaya Amavasya day.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Semolina / Rawa
1 Cup Grated Jaggery
A pinch of Cardamom Powder or 1 tsp Sugar and Cardamom powder
1 Cup Wheat Flour
A pinch of salt
1 tbsp Oil
2 – 3 tbsp Oil or Ghee for roasting
Method:
Add Jaggery in a utensil along with a cup of water and let the Jaggery melt.
When it comes to a boil, add Rawa and mix well. Let it cook for a minute. Keep stirring. Add Cardamom powder and mix well. Remove and let it cool. Make into equal sized balls and keep aside.
Mix Wheat flour, Salt, and 1tbsp Oil to form a soft dough. Divide into balls.
Flatten the Wheat flour ball and keep the Semolina ball over it. Close it.
On a floured surface, roll into concentric circles.
Roast on both sides using Ghee or Oil.
Serve Sajjige Holige with more Ghee.
