Sapadabhaksha is a sweet pudding prepared as an offering to Lord Sathyanarayana and distributed to the devotees. Performing Sathyanarayana Pooja on every full moon day is considered auspicious by the Hindus. On this day the Sapadabhaksha or Sathyanarayana prasada is prepared using 5 ingredients and distributed among the devotees.
Time Required: 15 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Chiroti Rawa/Fine Semolina/Sooji
3/4 Cup Ghee/Clarified Butter
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Sugar
1 Ripe Banana
Cardamom powder (Optional)
Dry fruits and nuts (Optional)
Method:
Chop Banana into small pieces and keep aside. Heat Ghee in a thick-bottomed pan and add rawa.
Fry until an aroma arises.
Add Milk and cook for 2 minutes.
Add Sugar and mix well and close the vessel for a minute.
After a minute, add Banana pieces and mix well.
Remove to a bowl.
Offer to Lord Satyanarayana.
Sajjige or Kesaribhath is prepared using water and not Milk. Do not get confused with the two.
