Sihigenasina Sihi Usali is a sweet dish prepared using Sweet Potato and Jaggery. Sweet Potatoes are available in south India during January and they are cooked and eaten on Sankranthi day in Mysore-Bangalore regions.

Ingredients:
2 Cups Sihigenasu/Sweet Potatoes slices either peeled or with peel
1 Cup Jaggery
1tbsp Ghee
1 crushed Cardamom
Method:
Heat Ghee and add Sweet Potato pieces and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
Simultaneously melt Jaggery with ½ Cup water and sieve.
Add Jaggery to the Sweet Potatoes.
Cook until the pieces become soft and are glazed with Jaggery syrup.
Add Cardamom and gently mix. Remove to a serving dish.
Serve hot garnished with Cherries.
