Tasty white Sesame Seeds rice from Karnataka.
Time Required: 30 Minutes
Ingredients:
4 Cups of Cooked Rice
Salt to taste
For the Masala:
½ Cup White Sesame Seeds, Roasted
4tbsp Grated fresh Coconut
6 Red Chilies, Roasted in Oil
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
1tbsp Tamarind Pulp
For the Seasoning:
3tbsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
2tbsp Groundnuts
1 Red Chili, Broken
1tsp Urad Dal / Split Black Gram / Uddinabele
1tsp Kadalebele / Bengal Gram
Few Curry leaves
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
Method:
Grind the ingredients for the masala to a paste and keep aside. Heat Oil and add Kadlebele, Uddinabele and when they turn pink, add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter add Red Chili, Curry leaves and Hing. Add the ground masala and stir-fry until the oil leaves the masala.
Add the masala and Salt to the cooked Rice and mix well. Perfect to serve in a party along with Pakora and Shavige Payasa.
