Garlic Rice

Garlic Rice is another variety of rice that can be part of your party menu.

Cuisine: South Indian
Time required: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
3 Cups Cooked Rice
Few Curry leaves
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
2 – 3 Garlic Pods, minced
2 tbsp Oil
Salt to taste

For the masala:
1 tsp Bengal Gram Dal / Kadalebele
1 tsp Urad Dal / Uddinabele
5 Red Chilies
4 – 5 Garlic Pods 
1 tsp Coriander Seeds

Method:
Dry roast Bengal Gram Dal and Urad Dal until they turn pink.

Add Red Chilies, Garlic, and Coriander Seeds.  Grind to a powder and keep it aside.

Heat Oil, add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter, add Curry leaves and the masala powder.  Stir fry for a minute.

Add cooked rice and Salt and mix well.

Remove to a serving bowl and serve hot with Raitha.
