This is a side dish with gravy prepared using String beans.
Time Required: 15 Minutes
Ingredients:
20 String Beans
¼ Cup Grated Fresh Coconut
1 tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
3 Peppercorns
3 Green or Red Chilies
1tsp Oil
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
A pinch of Turmeric Powder
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
Few Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Method:
Grind Coconut, Jeera, Peppercorns and Chilies to a paste. String beans and chop them into 1” pieces. Boil Beans in 1 cup of water with a pinch of Salt for 4 minutes. Add the masala paste and Salt to it and bring to a boil.
Heat Oil in a seasoning pan and add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter add Turmeric powder, Hing and Curry leaves. Add this to the Beans playa and mix well. Serve with Rice or Indian Bread.
