Banana Flower Vada is a delicacy prepared in South India using the tender flowers of the plantain plant.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Banana Flower, Separated and the hard pistil removed and soaked in buttermilk
1 Cup Bengal Gram (Channa Dal), Soaked for an hour
Few Green Chilies, Chopped finely
Few Curry Leaves, Chopped finely
Few Sprigs Coriander Leaves, Chopped finely
1 or 2 Onions, Chopped finely
Salt to taste
Method:
Remove Banana flower from the Buttermilk and chop finely. Grind Bengal Gram to a coarse paste.
Remove to a mixing bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients.
Mix well.
Divide and shape into vadas.
Deep fry on low flame till they turn golden brown.
Remove and serve hot with your choice of Chutney.
