Bread Bonda is deep-fried stuffed bread. Great to serve as starters in parties!
Time required: 45 Minutes
Ingredients:
Few slices of bread
2 Potatoes, boiled and peeled
1 Cup Peas, boiled
1″ Ginger, minced
1 tsp Green Chilies paste
2 – 3 Garlic Pods, minced
1 tsp Garam Masala powder
1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
1 tsp Roasted Jeera/Cumin powder
1 tsp Turmeric powder
Few Cashew nuts, crushed
2 – 3 sprigs Coriander Leaves, chopped
2 tbsp Oil
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat Oil, add Garlic, Ginger, Green Chili paste, and Cashew nuts. Saute for a minute. Next, add Peas and mix.
Add mashed Potatoes, Chili Powder, Jeera Powder, Garam Masala Powder, Turmeric Powder, and Salt. Mix well and remove to a bowl.
Remove the edges of the bread. Divide the potato mixture into equal size balls.
Soak the bread slice in water and squeeze out the water. Keep a ball inside the bread slice and close on all sides.
Heat Oil for deep frying. Deep fry the bonda until golden brown.
Remove and serve hot with your choice of sauce or chutney.
