Potato Chips

The ubiquitous and quintessential Potato wafers.  One is not enough…Potato Chips finds their way into our diet while enjoying a movie or as a crispy side dish during a meal. Many disappear while reading a book too.

Time Required: 30 Minutes

Ingredients:
10 Large Potatoes
Salt, Pepper, Chili Powder to taste
Oil for frying
A pinch of Cooking Soda

Method:
Peel the Potatoes and cut into thin circles. Wash with water and let them stand for sometime in salted water, to which a pinch of cooking soda has been added.

Drain. Remove and pat dry the Potatoes using a dry cloth.

Heat Oil in a frying pan and fry the slices.

Fry them until they turn golden in color.

Remove with a slotted spoon and spread on a sheet of paper.

Sprinkle Potato Chips with Salt, Pepper and Chili Powder and mix well.

Store in dry airtight containers.
