Nendrabale is a type of Plantain widely grown in Kerala, South India. The ripe fruit is steamed and served during breakfast or can be eaten as a dessert after lunch or dinner.
Time Required: 10 Minutes
Ingredients:
2 ripe Nendrabale/Banana
For serving: (Optional)
Liquid Jaggery or Honey
Freshly grated Coconut
Method:
Cut the Banana into 4 pieces and place them in a cooker vessel.
Steam for 7 minutes along with the skin.
Remove to a serving tray. On a serving plate, spread some liquid Jaggery (Yoni Bella). Slit the center of the steamed Banana piece and stuff with fresh grated coconut.
Place this over the liquid Jaggery, sprinkle some Cardamom powder
You can also serve the steamed Banana along with the skin. You must peel before eating.
