This exotic dish is prepared using Raw Jackfruit and Rice with spices.
Time Required: 1 hour
Ingredients:
2 Cups Rice
2 Cups Chopped Raw Jackfruit
4 Tomatoes, Chopped finely
3 Onions, Sliced
Whole Garam Masala
Oil for frying
1tsp Ginger Paste
1tsp Garlic Paste
1tsp Turmeric Powder
2tbsp Chili Powder
1tbsp Garam Masala powder
2 big spoons of Curds / Yoghurt
2tbsp Butter
Few sprigs of Mint, Chopped
Salt to taste
Method:
Soak rice for half an hour. Parboil Rice along with the whole garam masala and sieve.
Boil Jackfruit with water and salt for 10 minutes. Deep fry the boiled jackfruit pieces.
Heat a tbsp. of Oil in a kadai and add Onions. Sauté until they turn brown. Add Ginger – Garlic paste and stir. Add Tomatoes, Turmeric – Chili powder, Garam Masala and Salt. Stir fry until the moisture evaporates. Add the deep fried Jackfruit and Curds. Mix well and cook for a minute or two on low flame.
In a baking dish put a layer of Jackfruit mixture and then Rice alternatively. On the top layer add Butter and sprinkle some Garam Masala and garnish with Mint leaves. Seal the dish with Aluminum foil and cook in pre-heated oven for 15 minutes.
Serve hot with Raitha.
