The most iconic temple in Bangalore is the ISKCON temple situated on a small hill along the West of Chord Road. It is dedicated to Sri Radha Krishna. ISKCON stand for International Society for Krishna Consciousness and founded by Sri Prabhupada.
The Sri Radha Krishan Temple was inaugurated in 1997. The other deities worshiped here are Sri Krishna Balarama, Sri Nitai Gauranga, Sri Srinivasa Govinda, and Sri Prahalada Narasimha.
Another temple of ISKCON that is being build is Sri Sudarshana Narasimha temple at Vaikuntha Hill off Kanakpura road.
People throng these temples during festivals. The decorations of the deities are unique and beautiful.
The mid-day meal program known as Akshaya Patra was started by ISKON Bangalore. Around 9000 government schools are benefited from this program, which provides free food to school children.
