Spitsville

It is very common to see a lot of people riding two wheelers commuting to their work place. Well-dressed women and men ride on their two wheelies to reach their offices on time. There are times when people commuting by buses or the cleaner cum conductor of buses spit out of the windows without looking where it lands. The victim of this unwanted spray are the people commuting on the two-wheeler or the pedestrian. It is so disgusting and there is no option but to just glare at the tail of the bus and wipe it off from the body overcoming the nauseating feeling.

If by any chance the bus was waiting for the signal to turn green and you turned red and glared at the person, you will be greeted with a sheepish don’t-care look with the words “Swalpa adjust madkoli saar” (Sir, please bear with the inconvenience). But, why should we…don’t they have the basic sense not to spit on the streets and I really wonder why people have the urge to spit on the roads while walking, driving, sitting or commuting by vehicles without even considering that the spit might contain harmful bacteria, which might spread diseases. “Illa Saar adjust madkolalla” (No Sir, we will not adjust) should be our refrain and the spitting crime should be penalized.
